The Best Shoes for Spring 2012

Jimmy Choo Spring 2012

This was a very hard list to make and there were many fantastic and beautiful shoes that could also be on the list, but I narrowed down my personal favorite shoes from the Spring 2012 collections. Some of the designs that are on this list are simply beautiful, while others are unique and innovative. The common theme in the Spring shoes is the use of bright color, but other than that, each label has their own, distinctive style, which make this season a shoe lover’s dream.

Giuseppe Zanotti Shoes Spring 2012

Even the best designers have off seasons, and as much as I love Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, the past few seasons and the upcoming Spring 2012 collection is a bit ho-hum. It’s not that every single shoe is ugly or plain, but I’m used to seeing amazing work from Zanotti and nothing has stood out recently. I do like his use of bright colors for the Spring 2012 collection, like in the above pumps, but the shoes themselves are very simple in design. His price points demand eyecatching and innovative designs, and that’s something we just don’t see this season. To Zanotti’s credit, he did make some interesting sneakers with hidden wedge heels, however I’m not exactly a sneaker kind of girl. Here’s a look at some of the Spring 2012 collection and you can see more here and here:

Joanne Stoker Shoes Spring 2012

There is a new, up and coming shoe designer that’s set to rock the fashion world. The London based Joanne Stoker started her shoe line last year, and already she’s recieved awards and praise from the fashion elite. Her designs are incredably innovative, and her style is something like a combination of Nicholas Kirkwood and Camilla Skovgaard. Be prepared to add to your shoe collection this spring, because the Joanne Stoker shoes are irresistable.

The above pump is pink, woven raffia with a braided raffia and stone square heel. It has a open toe, thin ankle strap and a shortened platform. The shoes below are yellow leather and have a shell, square heel. They have a thin ankle strap, an open toe and a shortened platform. Joanne Stoker shoes are here.

Christian Louboutin Lady Peep Slingback Pumps

Colorblock pumps are all the rage this season, but with the multitude of colors you can’t wear them with a lot of looks, but these Christian Louboutin slingback Lady Peep pumps are on trend and neutral. Sure, the white platform puts them in the Spring/Summer category, but they’re highly versatile and will be a sheer delight to wear all during the warm weather seasons.

The Lady Peeps are on of Christian Louboutin’s most popular designs, because as he says himself, every lady needs a peep toe pump. I totally agree, but would add “every lady needs a Christian Louboutin peep toe pump”.  This shoe will put you up there, about half a foot, but it’s the optimal heel to showcase the signature red sole.

Nude colored patent leather with a white patent leather platform, these designer shoes have a slingback ankle strap. They have a black patent leather heel, a leather in-sole and signature red sole. The heel measures 6 inches with a 1.25 inch platform. Christian Louboutin shoes are hand made in Italy. $945 Christan Louboutin shoes are here.

Camilla Skovgaard Laser Cut Wedge Ankle Boots

I love a sexy, pin thin stiletto heel, but let’s be honest, they’re more for looks than wearability. When it comes to comfort and style, Camilla Skovgaard wins hands down. She puts a rubber sole on her shoes, in this case it’s her signature saw sole, that grips the ground to prevent slipping. The rubber sole also adds a little lift without increasing the pitch of your foot.

This is an ankle boot with an advantage to the competition, it’s simplistic beige color allows for alot of versatility, but the laser cut outs add a distinctive and artistic appeal. These year round shoes with a rare level of versatility and an easy price make these a must have.

Laser cut beige suede with metallic leather details, these designer shoes have the Skovgaard signature saw sole that catches the eye from every angle. The laser cut outs reveal metallic leather underneath. They have a leather in sole and rubber sole. The wedge heel measures 5.9 inches with a .75 inch platform. $683 Camilla Skovgaard shoes are here.

Alejandro Ingelmo Strappy Ankle Boots

I love nude colored footwear… pumps, sandals, boots or ankle boots, doesn’t matter. They all have the same leg elongating effect, and the higher the heel, the longer my legs will look. So naturally I’m obsessed with these nude colored Ajejandro Ingelmo ankle boots. While I would usually shy away from a 5.5 inch heel, these have a 1.5 inch platform for a more modest 4 inch pitch, and the sturdy wedge heel is much easier to walk in than a 5.5 inch stiletto. Translation: I could wear these after a few cocktails and not fall and break an ankle.

Nude colored shiny patent leather with suede trim, these designer shoes are a sandal/ankle boot hybrid. While they have the look of an ankle boot, the strappy upper will keep your feet cool in hot weather. They have rubber inserts on the sole to hinder slipping. Wear with a short hemline for ultimate leg elongating effect. $973 Alejandro Inglemo shoes are here.
