Nicholas Kirkwood and Erdem Shoes Fall 2010

by Administrator 23. February 2010 04:41

The go-to shoe designer at the London fashion shows is Nicholas Kirkwood. Most of the shoes made by NK for fashion shows aren’t available for sale, they are simply props, but this collection, only the second after Rodarte, will be available in stores.

I’m not terribly crazy about these shoes. The prints are unique, but the lace up utility boot design is not my speed. I think they would be great with a side zip up and maybe an open toe, minus the distracting laces.

Nicholas Kirkwood shoes are sold at LUISAVIAROMA.

Giuseppe Zanotti Embellished Sandal

by Administrator 20. February 2010 05:16

I have visited these Giuseppe Zanotti shoes before, but this is my absolute favorite color of this version sandal to date. The soft gold looks gorgeous with lustrous cream colored stones and white crystals, both reflecting a touch of pink. These will be extra fabulous next the sun kissed skin!

The Giuseppe Zanotti sandals have a 4.5 inch heel. These shoes can go with anything from a formal dress to a pair of jeans, and when I get them, they will be on my feet all the time. $1,075. Largest selection of Giuseppe Zanotti are at Endless

Alexander McQueen Dark Polar Lights Sandal

by Administrator 17. February 2010 05:28

I didn't think it would happen, but Alexander McQueen shoes, in new styles, are still coming into stores, I'm assuming on back order. These sandals are new to Zappos, and they are down to only a few pairs left. They are multi colored sandals with his signature skull detail on the front. They have a 4 inch heel. $699 at Zappos.

Nicholas Kirkwood for Rodarte Shoes Fall 2010

by Administrator 17. February 2010 04:29

Nicholas Kirkwood is designing footwear for Rodarte again this upcoming Fall 2010, probably with a pay raise because his last collaboration with the luxury brand was pure genius. This time around Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy's collection centered around the theme 'sleepwalking', so Kirkwood had the heels cleverly designed to look like melting wax. And most fabulous of all, the heels slightly glow, as if lit, in the dark. The upper portions of the shoes are twisted swaths of fabric around the ankle and toes, with a contrasting oxford style lace up middle portion, giving the shoes an overall very distinctive look. Some of the shoes have upper portions that are all cut out, lace up in style, but have the twisted fabric swaths at the ankles.

Another hit collaboration for Nicholas Kirkwood and Rodarte.

Marc Jacobs Shoes Fall 2010 Collection

by Administrator 16. February 2010 04:25

I have no words...but if Marc Jacobs pulls this sort of crap for the Louis Vuitton collection, I'm going to be pissed.

Christian Siriano Shoes Fall 2010

by Administrator 15. February 2010 04:33

Christian Siriano debuted his Fall 2010 collection along with his Payless shoe collection on the runway this past Friday. Celebs sitting front row included Amber Rose wearing his Spring 2010 collection and Mena Suvari.

His inspiration for the shoe collection was from antique furniture from the 18th and 19th century with its filigree and clawfoot detailing.  A focal design from the runway collection is the Rocaille style, a platform pump featuring a signature artisan heel reminiscent of a clawfoot. The designs are great, but I can't help but think 'this has been done before - alot'. However, the shoe styles will certainly be something new and different for Payless. Last season they toned down his original designs so they would be more mainstream, but I hope they don't touch this seasons, it will be nice to see something so stylish available to the masses. The collection is expected in Payless stores in September 2010.

Rock & Republic Alayna Pumps

by Administrator 14. February 2010 05:04

Rock & Republic has been putting out some very cool designs, and this Alayna pump is one of them. I can't decide which color I like best, the metallic black would be my first choice, but I like the gold chains on the silver shoe, as well as the gold logo on the sole. One thing I know, I prefer the chain to hang down the back of the shoe as opposed to resting on the front, although both looks are fab.

The Alayna pumps are leather with removable hardware and have a 4.25 inch heel and a .5 inch platform. $302 at Zappos.
