These Alejandro Ingelmo shoes are from his summer 2009 collection and feature woven metal, in bronze, gold and silver. Alejandro said the idea behind this spring collection was to 'create purely feminine silhouettes with a contrasting edge.' I think he achieved his goal.
The tall cut out boot is called the 'preying mantis' shoe and it has a 5.5 inch platform heel that literally forms to your foot like a cage. AJ said, "I love it because you are not sure what it is when you see it. Is it a boot? Is it a sandal? I call it the Preying Mantis because it really is a man eater shoe!” Fabulous!
The gold slingback is the Barberella shoe. That and the short preying mantis and is the only one available for sale to date. They are at at Brownsfashion.com, $660 and $952. I'll let you know when the tall preying mantis is available.
