I absolutely love lace ankle boots as a way to dress up denim, and as a beautiful accessory to the LBD. The lace has to be just right, however. These DSquared boots have beautiful lace and with the rough trim, they have a touch of attitude. They are black lace over tan leather and have a 4.8 inch stiletto heel with a .8 inch hidden platform. $550 at Yoox .

Rocker chic meets ultra glam in these fabulous, just released, DSquared Sandals. Are these not the perfect way to dress up a pair of skinny distressed jeans or leggings - whatever, as long as it's fitted and stops at the ankle. These shoes must be appreciated in all of their fierceness. Draped with pearls, crystals, and silver chain, these shoes are jewelry for your feet. They have a 4.5 inch heel and a 1 inch platform, so they will be relatively comfortable. I absolutely love these shoes! $1,096 at zappos.com.

D Squared | Fall 2009
I was quite concerned when Amazon bought out zappos, because I buy almost all of my shoes from them and love their free overnight shipping. I was also worried about the selection. But my worry was in vain, because not only have the good things stayed the same, they have expanded their selection to include more designer labels. Now they have "Zappos Couture" - so cute, and carry lines like Marc Jacobs (not just Marc by Marc Jacobs) and Burberry.
Here is one of my favorites, the Dsquared2 Bloody Mary sandal with chap detail. It features this season's biggest trend - studs, but not so overly done that you can't wear them past the fad. The chap is removable if you want to tone down the rocker chic look. They have a 5 inch heel and a 1 inch platform. $978 at Zappos. .

The motorcycle boot is a upcoming trend for Fall and Winter, but most of them are just too rocker chic for me. These D Squared shoes, however, I really like. The studs offer some Harley attitude, but paired with jeans, a simple top and the right bag, these shoes could be quite fabulous for a very non-Hell's Angels person like myself. They are suede and patent leather with a chaps-inspired, detachable, studded strap. They have a 5 inch heel and a 1 inch hidden platform. $1,275 Available at LUISAVIAROMA.COM .
