Alexander McQueen shoes are often designed around the concept of contrasting elements: fragility and strength, tradition and modernity, fluidity and severity. This makes his shoes not only very fashionable accessories, but works of art.

Alexander McQueen Tweed Skull Pumps

These pumps are classic Alexander McQueen. They juxtapose contrasting elements, and in the case of these shoes, conservative tweed paired with disturbing skull detail. These pumps have a lot going on, but it works undeniably well. How often do you see tweed pumps with stud details and a filigree and crystal skull charm at the toe? They are a feast for the eyes, and with so much going on they are still versatile for many Fall looks, and they’re a great alternative to boots.

Black, white and grey tweed pumps with silver stud details and a filigree and crystal skull charm at the toe, these designer shoes are statement making footwear. They have a square heel, leather lining, sole and in-sole. The heel measures 4 inches with a .5 inch platform. Alexander McQueen shoes are made in Italy. $1,195 Available here.

Alexander McQueen Heart Peep Toe Pumps

I’m loving the textured twist and heart shaped peep toe on these otherwise simple silver pumps. They are a very understated shoe, with a hint of flirty sexiness, and would be a great match with almost anything in your closet.

High shine metallic silver, cracked leather, these designer shoes are simple, yet subtly sexy. They have a heart shaped peep toe, a leather sole and in-sole. The heel measures 5 inches with a .75 inch hidden platform. Alexander McQueen shoes are made in Italy. $740 Available here.

Alexander McQueen Shoes Spring 2012

As was expected, the Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 show was the most amazing collection in every aspect, from the head pieces to the shoes. Sarah Burton proves, yet again, that she is every bit as talented as the late McQueen and a worthy ascendant. In this Spring 2012 collection, the theme was oceanic life and that translated into coral shell embellishments, fish scale patterns embossed in leather, and copper, silver and gold like a pirate’s buried treasure. All of the shoes had a curved, wedge heel, some with holes in the center, and while they are certainly unique and eye catching designs, they aren’t so over the top that anyone would shy away from wearing them. The collection should be highly successful come Spring 2012. Alexander McQueen shoes are available here.

Alexander McQueen Bow Sandals

Black shoes will always be a staple in women’s closets. The neutral color goes with everything and it conceals dirt and scuffs. Finding an interesting, eye-catching black shoe can be a challenge, but Alexander McQueen delivers a fabulous black shoe for Fall 2011. The simple sandal is topped with a giant bow at the back ankle for a dramatic, yet ultra feminine, style.

Black suede high-heel sandals with a wired fabric bow at the back, these designer shoes are for the fashionista who always sports fabulous shoes. They have a T-strap silhouette with a suede covered platform and heel. It has covered elastic around the ankle for slip-on. They have a leather upper, in-sole and sole. The heel measures 4 inches with a .5 inch platform. Alexander McQueen shoes are made in Italy. $795 Available here.

Alexander McQueen Strass Wedge Pumps

If anyone has the ability to bring high drama, with a flair for opulence, it’s Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen. Like her predecessor, her combination of art and fashion is impeccable. These embellished wedge pumps are fit for a queen with their ornate details and one-of-a-kind look. While many jeweled sandals evoke images of dance clubs and cocktails, McQueen blended old world style with a modern flair that literally look like a crown for your feet. The velvet peep toe pump and swirling wedge is a nod to the days of yore, while the heavily embellished bead and crystal bands unmistakably crown the foot and frame the toes for an accessory more relevant to today’s royalty (Kate, anyone?).

Black velevt peep toe pumps with a dramatic swirling wedge heel, these designer shoes fall into the category of fashion as art. They have thick, heavily embellished straps that drape across the top of the foot and frame the toes (fresh pedicure implied). There is a zip closure at the back heel. The heel measures 4.75 inches with a 1.25 inch platform. Alexander McQueen shoes are made in Italy. $1,645 Available here.
