New York Fashion Week: Spring 2012
Rag & Bone Shoe 2012
It’s that time of year again, New York Fashion Week, and so far there have been a few designers with notable footwear collections to showcase. My favorite Spring 2012 shoe collection we have seen is from Rag & Bone. The pastel color block pieces are different from any of the other collections so far, and they’re just what I like: eye-catching, chic, and flattering. I like the silk print pump from Altuzarra and Derek Lam and Jason Wu had some honorable mentions, the rest left me uninspired.

Alexander Wang Braided Sandals
Strappy sandals are a Summer essential, and they consist of dainty little things with a stiletto heel. Not these Alexander Wang sandals! With thick, braided leather straps and a chunky square heel, these shoes have serious presence, and that trim of iridescence on the sole is so fabulously extravagant, I can’t get over it.
These designer shoes are pebbled leather heels in black with braided leather straps. There are four single pin buckle closures at the inner side. They have a padded leather footbed and an iridescent multicolored inset at the .75 inch platform. They have a leather sole with approx. 4.75 inch covered cutaway block heel. Alexander Wang Freja Ankle Boots
If there is any ankle boot that comes close to the love I have for the Alexander McQueen Faithful, it’s this Alexander Wang Freja. The designs are similar, both have open toes and fold down details, but the Wang boot has more zipper details and the side lacing ties around the ankle. It’s a ‘busier’ design, but depending on what’s worn with them, that’s good. I think something simple with a short hemline would be the perfect way to showcase these fabulous shoes.
These designer shoes are textured light tan leather, open toe booties with tonal suede overlay. They have silver tone exposed front zip and overlay trim. They have wraparound lace-up tie with reinforced silver tone eyelets and pull tab at the layered heel collar. The leather sole has an approx. 4.25″ heel. They are also available in black. Alexander Wang Shoes Fall 2011
When it comes to footwear, I can always count on Alexander Wang to pull of the super distinct and borderline strange, and this Fall 2011 collection doesn’t disappoint. Wang said of this collection, ”We’re almost poking fun at decadence and luxury.” That’s obvious in the footwear that is anything but classic in design, but they are, without a doubt, conversation starters.
The collection includes oxford style pumps in shiny metallic patent leather, strappy sandals with capes that cover the heel, and fur lined sandals. His ‘boots’ for fall are essentially spats and strappy sandals, but the ‘spat’ doesn’t connect with the shoe like ordinary spats, rather they have a drawstring fastening at the knee.

Alexander Wang Addison Boots
I absolutely love these Alexander Wang shoes. They come in a black that fade- to- blue version, but I think the brown fade- to- yellow is perfect for Fall. Style.com picked these boots as a must have accessory for Fall 2010 and I totally agree. They are part of the Alexander Wang runway collection.
These leather high-heel, platform boots feature a polished, fade to yellow toe and raised seam detailing. They have hidden elastic gore insets and pull tab. 1 inch covered platform and 5.25 inch chunky stacked heel. 7 inch shaft. They have a leather sole and insole. $725 Available here.

Alexander Wang Frida Ankle Boots
One of the first new arrivals for Fall 2010 are these fabulous Alexander Wang shoes. Many of the shoes in his upcoming collection feature the pointed cap by the ankle that is the dominant feature in this design.
This Frida ankle boot is grey suede and reptile-embossed leather. They have a pointed cap above the heel and a covered sculptural heel. The elasticized insert on inner side allow for easy slip on. They have a 5 inch heel and a 1 inch hidden platform. $735 at Mytheresa.com.
