Giuseppe Zanotti Vs. BCBG

It’s that time of year again, sales, sales, and more sales. Spring designs and some pre-summer are being marked down to prepare for the Fall 2011 shoes that will be hitting stores mid-summer. And while the above left Giuseppe Zanotti ankle boot is marked down quite a bit, at $657 here, which is a decent price for designer shoes, BCBG does a mean look-a-like (above right) for those of us with a more modest budget. I have a few pairs of BCBG shoes and the quality and craftsmanship is exceptional, especially considering the price point.

The BCBG ankle boots are snakeskin embossed leather in army green with brown leather trim. They have silver hardware eyelet lace ups and an open toe. They have a 4.25 inch heel and a .25 inch platform. $139 Available here.

BCBG Sandals: Recession Chic

With this God awful recession still going strong, I have a new found appreciation for affordable, yet still adorable, shoes like those offered by Steve Madden and BCBG. Yesterday I was browsing DSW and I was shocked and awed to see these sandals, and my first thought was “DSW is carrying Giuseppe Zanotti?” Then I approached and saw the BCBG box, and since my budget is somewhat leaner these days, I totally appreciate the affordable look-a-like. Sure, they don’t have the bling like the Zanotti’s (below), but at $98 verses $1095, that gets a pass.

These BCBG sandals are black leather with silver stud details and have a zip closure at the inner ankle. They have a slightly padded footbed and a 4.5 inch covered heel. $98 Available here.
