Giuseppe Zanotti, the designer, comes from a small town in Italy, famous for its’ shoe manufacturing tradition. In the beginning of his career as a shoe designer, Giuseppe Zanotti worked with small craftsman and as his talents grew he moved on to working for leading fashion houses. In the early 1990′s he bought a shoe manufacturing factory in Italy where he designed shoes under his own label. Since then, his business has grown to be one of the most popular among designer shoes.
As a designer, he focuses everything on a formula of creativity and craftsmanship of the highest level. He has more than 300 expert specialists working in select departments that specialize in areas of the shoe, such as jewels, embroidery and heels. His designs are true to his initial inspirations that flatter the female form. In addition to his own seasonal collections, his talent is called apon by other fashion houses such as Balmain, Proenza Schouler, Thakoon, Christopher Kane and Delfina Delettrez. His collections, Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer, are large by most shoe collection standards and they include gemstone embellishments, sequins, fur embellishments, leather, exotic skins and other fine materials depending on the current fashions. With the level of detail and the finest materials, it’s no wonder that Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are held in such high regard.

Giuseppe Zanotti Curved Wedge Sandals

The warm weather seasons dominate wedge shoes, but who want to be another face in the crowd with a plain wedge when you can stand out with the Giuseppe Zanotti curved wedge sandals. Obviously it’s the silhouette that’s most striking on these shoes, but the vivid purple suede further adds to the “wow” factor. While these aren’t a typical day to night shoe, they will be fabulous during the day or for a casual evening out (and we like to look fabulous even when we’re going casual).

Purple suede with a natural wood curved wedge, these designer shoes are stature enhancing delights. With a leather sole and in-sole, these sandals will put you up over half a foot, 6.25 inches with a 1.75 inch platform. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are made in Italy. $895 Available here.

Giuseppe Zanotti Shoes Spring 2012

Even the best designers have off seasons, and as much as I love Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, the past few seasons and the upcoming Spring 2012 collection is a bit ho-hum. It’s not that every single shoe is ugly or plain, but I’m used to seeing amazing work from Zanotti and nothing has stood out recently. I do like his use of bright colors for the Spring 2012 collection, like in the above pumps, but the shoes themselves are very simple in design. His price points demand eyecatching and innovative designs, and that’s something we just don’t see this season. To Zanotti’s credit, he did make some interesting sneakers with hidden wedge heels, however I’m not exactly a sneaker kind of girl. Here’s a look at some of the Spring 2012 collection and you can see more here and here:

Giuseppe Zanotti Sheer Fabric Sandals

Even though it’s still freezing outside and we have more Winter in front of us than behind us, the new year always gets me looking forward to Spring. What’s more Spring-y than a bright mango colored sheer sandal? The color is the essence of warm weather and while it’s getting no where near my face, it will look fabulous next to my tan (relatively) skin.

Ruched sheer fabric with leather lining, these designer shoes are the perfect warm weather accessory. Paired with anything from a LBD to tailored shorts, they will showcase your legs. They have a rear zip closure, a 4.25 inch heel and a .5 inch platform. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are made in Italy. $995 Available here.

Giuseppe Zanotti Curved Wedge Sandals

I can now happily say that the year long Giuseppe Zanotti slump seems to be a thing of the past. His Spring 2012 collection is staring out with some great designs; wearable, eye catching and flattering. I hope I never see a mono-color, towering wedge ankle boot that resembles a horse hoof again.

Heel or no heel? These sandals were engineered in a way to look like there is no heel, but the extended platform ensures a steady gait (before coctail hour). They are remniscent of a McQueen design, but with a more conservative strappy upper, Giuseppe makes them his own.

Black leather T-Strap sandal with a metallic gold tone, curved wedge heel, these designer shoes are eye-catching to say the least. They have a leather sole and in sole, a 5.75 inch heel with a 1.5 inch platform. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are made in Italy. $895 Giuseppe Zanotti Sandals are here.

When you were a teenager did you wear frosty pink lipstick and thought you looked hot? I did, and I swear the color of these shoes would have been my perfect shade. They have a leather sole and insole. The heel measures 6.5 inches with a 1.5 inch platform. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are made in Italy. $775 Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are here.

Giuseppe Zanotti Mesh Pumps

My obsession with nude colored shoes is endless. I have darker nude and lighter nude for the seasons as my skin slightly changes hue. My collection borders on pathological, but I never tire of new and varied incarnations of my favorite accessory. I became slightly hysterical when I saw these mesh nude pumps from Giuseppe Zanotti. Not only are they the leg elongating color that I adore, the mesh is something different, giving me a valid excuse to buy “another nude pump”.

These pumps are showstoppers for sure, not just the flattering color and the sexy mesh (think fishnets) upper, they will have you walking tall. Half a foot taller that is, yes, these babies have a 6 inch heel, but the 1.5 inch platform will lessen the pitch somewhat.  They are nude mesh with a structured fine-mesh underlay and nude lizard-effect leather trims. They have peep toe and a thin ankle strap with an adjustable buckle closure. Giuseppe Zanotti shoes are made in Italy. $750 Giuseppe Zanotti Mesh Nude Pumps.
