John Galliano Shoes Fall 2011

As much as I don’t appreciate grossly inappropriate, anti-Semitic thoughts that occupy John Galliano’s head, it cannot be denied that the man has serious talent. The Fall 2011 collection revisited Galliano’s fondness for the thirties, but with a seriously sexy, modern update. For the shoes that translated into pumps with lots of straps and chain and lock detail reminiscent of corsets and fettered sex appeal.

Dior is the parent company od Galliano’s label, and although the Dior label cut him loose Dior CEO Sidney Toledano was greeting guests at Galliano’s presentation. The Galliano Fall 2011 shoes are brilliant and thankfully, despite what has happened in the previous week, they will see the retail light of day come next Fall.

Two things come to mind when I hear the name John Galliano, the newspaper dress Carrie wore in the Sex in the City series and again in the 2nd movie and the heel-less boots Victoria Beckham modeled last year. Mr. Galliano added these two famous elements to his Spring 2011 shoe collection and the result is genius .

As you can see from the above picture, the soles of the shoes in this collection feature newspaper print. GENIUS! Mr. Galliano can litrally do what Christian Louboutin did with his signature red soles, make the newspaper print a signature for every shoe and his designs will market themselves. One of the reasons Louboutins are so very popular is because they are instantly recognizable, and let me tell you…shoe snobs love that.

He also did a sandal version of the heel-less boot (pictured below), and it has the same effect as the original…you do a double and triple take, thus putting all eyes on your feet, again, shoe snobs love that!!!

Those two attributes aside, the shoes are still fabulous. Beautiful colors, stingray details, butterfly vamps all make for a pretty, feminine and cheerful collection.
