Anything Louboutin designs creates an immediate race to copycat from almost all other major shoe labels. As evidence, there are a plethora of spiked pumps on the market this Spring 2012, thanks to the original Louboutin design last spring. Not that I’m complaining, I love spiked pumps, and the more high end designers put a signature twist on the design making them distinctive of their own label. Ruthie Davis Spike Pumps

Although Ruthie Davis has a long history in the shoe business, it has only been since 2006 that her personal label hit the stores, but in the few years her label has grown leaps and bounds, thanks in part to a huge celebrity following. Not to mention the obvious; she has cutting edge, chic designs and the best craftsmanship from the fashion capitol of the world, Italy. Her collections usually consist of architectural, sky-high platforms with some element that has a “wow” factor, like the spikes on these gunmetal pumps from her Fall 2011 collection.

Gunmetal colored leather with a peep toe, these designer shoes are guaranteed to turn heads thanks to the fierce spikes on the toe and heel. They have a leather sole and in-sole. Ruthie Davis Shoes Spring 2011

Working together with stylist Patti Wilson and the design team at Dennis
Basso, RUTHIE DAVIS premiered the ‘Robot’ sandal from her
forthcoming Spring 2011 collection at the Dennis Basso SS’ 11 show at the
tents at NYFW on 9/14.

The ‘Robot’ features Ruthie’s latest trademark an exposed metal beam
separating the wood or patent covered upper segment and clear Lucite lower
segment of the heel. The ‘Robot’ stands at over 5″+ with criss crossing
straps in metallic, black, bandage, nude and mint patent leathers with a
touch of another Davis trademark: clear plastic.

Considering herself a modernist, Ruthie combined opposing forces to produce tough yet future feminine sandals. The Robot will be available in multiple color combinations at Neiman Marcus for Spring 2011 and will retail for $965.
