Vivienne Westwood + Melissa Wing Pumps

When the Melissa plastic shoes first came out a couple of years ago, I cringed at the thought of high end “jellies”. While I still prefer my shoes in some form of leather or pretty fabric, I’ve learned the plastic shoes are quite comfortable. No to mention the Vivienne Westwood and Melissa collaboration make some really cute and whimsical designs like these angel wing pumps.

No, “jelly” pumps aren’t for every occasion, however they make a great alternative to a poolside or beach flip flop, and they’re so much cuter. When you’re not in a bikini, these pumps are the perfect option for a casual sun dress or tailored shorts.

White, soft plastic pumps with a wing accent above the peep toe and a slingback strap, these Vivienne Westwood shoes have a synthetic lining sole and in sole, so they are completely waterproof. They have a 4 inch heel. $190 Available here.

Vivienne Westwood by Melissa Dragon Slingback Pumps

I’ll be the first to admit that when the Melissa jelly shoes first came out, I was horrified. How dare they cheapen the world of designer shoes with something made purely from plastic. Fast forward a year or so and we get the first Vivienne Westwood/Melissa collaboration, and while I still wasn’t a fan, I had to admit they are super cute. This is the second year with this collaboration and the shoes are growing on me. It helps that I’ve read several customer reviews that claim they are very comfortable.

These are the Dragon slingback pumps and I love the opalescent color and the contrasting pompom at the toe. The design is ultra girly and whimsical, but stops short of being childish. The shoe is made from thermoplastic with a fabric in-sole. The heel measures 3.75 inches. The Dragon slingback pumps also come with a heart shaped charm at the toe. $185 Available here.
