Even the best designers have off seasons, and as much as I love Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, the past few seasons and the upcoming Spring 2012 collection is a bit ho-hum. It’s not that every single shoe is ugly or plain, but I’m used to seeing amazing work from Zanotti and nothing has stood out recently. I do like his use of bright colors for the Spring 2012 collection, like in the above pumps, but the shoes themselves are very simple in design. His price points demand eyecatching and innovative designs, and that’s something we just don’t see this season. To Zanotti’s credit, he did make some interesting sneakers with hidden wedge heels, however I’m not exactly a sneaker kind of girl.
