I’ll be the first to admit that I’m no fan of of kitten heel shoes. It’s either high or flat for me, high for the flattering look and flat for comfort. In general, I see no point in the kitten heel other than for ballroom dancing or for little old ladies. These YSL satin pumps are my first exception to the rule. It’s the opulent Swarovski crystals at the toe that draw me in, and the nude colored satin and layered ankle straps seal the deal. While they aren’t as flattering as a higher heel or as comfortable as a flat, they are a great way to dress up a look when it involves a lot of standing and walking.

I do love a great tribal inspired sandal. Louis Vuitton did a great African inspired collection back in ’08, but I haven’t seen anything worth mentioning since. I absolutely love some of the quintessential spring/summer trends like basket style handbags and Mediterranean colored jewelry. Gingham print is one of the few seasons essentials that I have stayed away from, simply because I never found a way that I could pull it off without looking like Minnie Pearl. However last summer when I saw a a pair of red and white gingham Christian Louboutin pumps, I thought, “That’s IT”, it’s gingham, but with a little sex appeal.
