Alejandro Ingelmo Strappy Ankle Boots

I love nude colored footwear… pumps, sandals, boots or ankle boots, doesn’t matter. They all have the same leg elongating effect, and the higher the heel, the longer my legs will look. So naturally I’m obsessed with these nude colored Ajejandro Ingelmo ankle boots. While I would usually shy away from a 5.5 inch heel, these have a 1.5 inch platform for a more modest 4 inch pitch, and the sturdy wedge heel is much easier to walk in than a 5.5 inch stiletto. Translation: I could wear these after a few cocktails and not fall and break an ankle.

Nude colored shiny patent leather with suede trim, these designer shoes are a sandal/ankle boot hybrid. While they have the look of an ankle boot, the strappy upper will keep your feet cool in hot weather. They have rubber inserts on the sole to hinder slipping. Wear with a short hemline for ultimate leg elongating effect. $973 Alejandro Inglemo shoes are here.

Alejandro Ingelmo Oragami Ankle boots

Talk about a statement shoe! Alejandro Ingelmo has never been faint of heart, but these Oragami ankle boots demand attention, and attention they’ll get. Inspired by architecture, Ingelmo makes incredibly edgy and sexy shoes that are unlike any other designer in his price range, but these are among his best thus far. These Oragami ankle boots will take center stage no matter what you pair it with, but the nude colored suede would look especially flattering with a short hemline (and further show off the booties).

Nude colored suede with patent leather trim, these designer shoes Oragami shape will have heads turning every where you wear them. They have a leather in-sole and sole with gold nameplate. The heel measures 4.75 inches with a .75 inch platform. Alejandro Ingelmo shoes are made in Italy. $948 Alejandro Ingelmo shoes are here.

Nicholas Kirkwood for Paco Rabanne Shoes Spring 2012

Manish Arora, designer for Paco Rabanne, asked Nicholas Kirkwood to design the shoes for his Spring 2012 collection. Arora wanted crystal encrusted shoes developed around the theme “light”. The results are sandals and ankle boots in metallic, light reflecting colors, and each shoe has an element that is distinctively Kirkwood, from the architectural platform to the futuristic style. The pin thin heels look a bit daunting, but a little challenge is nothing in the name of fashion ;) .

Nicholas Kirkwood for Paco Rabanne is here.

Camilla Skovgaard Ankle Boots

I rarely meet an ankle boot I don’t love, but add a Camilla Skovgaard distinctive element and I’m completely helpless to their charm. The ankle boot trend is staying strong through next Spring 2012, which is fine by me, as I can rationalize my purchase on a shoe I can wear year round. Black leather shoes don’t make a big visual statement, and the neutral color and lack of embellishments make for a multi-seasonal shoe that goes with everything. However, these boots are anything but boring, the diagonal cut out at the ankle and the architectural platform make them a striking shoe.

Black leather with a rounded toe and a diagonal cut out at the ankle, these designer shoes are sex appeal in a heel. With a sky high 5.5 inch heel, the 1.5 inch hidden platform will lessen the pain somewhat, but I wouldn’t exactly call these walking shoes. They have an adjustable buckle closure at the ankle, a leather sole and in-sole. $825 Camilla Skovgaard shoes are here

Pedro Garcia Belkis Ankle Boots

Pedro Garcia shoes have a very distinct quality, whether it’s the exposed cork platform, total lack of zippers, or the elfish upturned toe. His designs are somewhat rustic, yet they are very stylish and feminine, and most surprisingly, his designs are comfortable.

We all need black shoes in our wardrobe, whether it’s to tie an outfit together or allow for a punchy piece elsewhere in our look, but basic doesn’t have to be boring. These ankle boots are neutral black suede, but with a deep V shaped collar and upturned toe, the design is young and fun. The collar can be worn up or folded down, and the versatility ensures you’ll get a lot of miles out them.

Black suede with v-shaped collar with dual ankle straps with hook and loop fastening closures, these designer shoes have a split shaft at the back that allow for versatile wear. They have leather lining and in-sole, a cork platform and a rubber sole. The heel measures 4 inches with a 1 inch platform. $540 Pedro Garcia shoes are here.

Burberry Woven Wedge Ankle Boots

There are two reasons December is my favorite month of the year. First, it’s Christmas time and the weather is cool, and living in Dallas I relish the cool weather when it’s sweltering hot most of the year. The other reason I love December is the Spring collections start being released, and it’s gift time, so I can usually pick one and have it before the season even begins.

These beautifully woven wedge ankle boots are from the Burberry Spring 2012 collection and they simply set my heart a flutter. What says Spring more than basket-like weaving? Woven brown leather with self tie leather strings at the ankles, these designer shoes have a woven raffia black and white striped wedge platform. They have an open toe and a zipper closure at the inner ankle. They have a 5.1 inch heel with a 1.15 inch platform. $1,495 Shop the Spring 2012 accessories here.
