Designer Shoes: Reviews and Discussion

And we have another luxury goods designer with a moderate priced line. They seem to be coming out of the wood works! Not that I’m complaining…it means really cool designs are more accessible to more people, but it’s also a sign that the global economy isn’t getting better. 10 Crosby Derek Lam, by Derek Lam, are very similar in style to his signature line, so much so, I wonder if it’s just the price point that’s different. Well, that and the label. Speaking of the label, it’s quite a mouthful, 10 Crosby Derek Lam. I think he could have dropped a syllable or two in the name, but I’ll take it if it means I can get his wonderful designs for hundreds of dollars less. Black leather with nude colored suede, these ankle boots have a zippered closure at the front vamp and an open toe. They also have a […]

I love Brian Atwood for his gorgeous shoe designs, but I especially love that he makes a less expensive, yet equally beautiful, collection that’s accessible¬†to more people. It’s a trend that many high end designers have jumped on board, including Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and Dolce & Gabbana. Brian Atwood is the first exclusively luxury accessory designer, but let’s hope some others follow suit. These B Brian Atwood ankle boots are the latest sandal to have an almost entire fishnet upper. I really like the look, it’s sexy and stylish, but also practical for really hot weather. They come in black and also in white, and while I could envision wearing either with tons of different looks, the white ones are my pick. Not everyone can pull off white shoes, regardless of the season, but if you can the look is really hot. Black or white mesh with patent leather […]

B Brian Atwood Deliziosa Sandals

Although I labeled these B Brian Atwood shoes sandals, they’re really more like a hybrid half ankle sneaker-boot and half sandal. I absolutely can’t stand high heeled sneakers, but Atwood did a great job incorporating the trend in this design while still maintaining an overall sexy and feminine look. Normally I wouldn’t like the height of the shaft on this shoe, but in nude it will blend seamlessly with your leg and give you a flattering leg elongating effect. Nude colored leather with lace up details and an open toe, these designer shoes are super versatile and perfect for the shorter hemlines that come out in warm weather months. They have a slightly padded footbed, a leather sole and in-sole. The covered heel measures 5 inches with a .5 inch platform. $495 Available here.

These Rachel Zoe ankle boots are the perfect way to show some skin this season, without being overexposed. They have nude colored mesh panels on the front revealing, yet slightly camouflaging, the entire front foot, while the leather sides and front strip provide structure. The leg elongating power of the nude color is an added bonus. Nude colored leather and mesh with a stacked wood heel, these ankle boots will keep you cool while looking hot this season. They have a leather sole and in-sole and a zip closure at the back ankle. The heel measures 4 inches with a .75 inch platform. $525 Available here.
