The Marc Jacobs shoes for the upcoming Spring 2011 are better than what he did in Fall 2010 for his own label as well as Louis Vuitton, but they aren’t great. For the Spring he went back to the seventies era for inspiration, and for Fall 2010 he went to the 50′s and 60′s. What I don’t get is why he keeps remaking old styles? Try today. I don’t mind every few years doing a collection that harkens to an older era, but it’s constant with MJ, and frankly I haven’t seen a Marc Jacobs or Louis Vuitton shoe I have wanted to buy in years.
The shoes sport flowers, some have glitter platforms and heels, and others wrap up the legs a la Rene Caovilla. The heels are chunkier this season with wedges and thick square heels, and at least they will be easier to walk in to replace the loss of aesthetic appeal.
